We know many people out there get keen to try trials after seeing videos of amazing riders like Danny MacAskill, Andrew Dickey and our own Lewis Greenhalgh in action. However it can be frustrating not having a trials bike to learn on and unfortunately some people give up, thinking that the bike is key. While we sell the world's top trials bikes and they will make trials easier, the fact is those trials basic can be learnt on any type of bike. After seeing some drive way trials action on a fatbike we thought it would be fun to post a selection of the best trials riding not done on a trials bike.
First up trials on a fatbike, fresh off YouTube any type of cycling benefits from working on basic skills in the driveway.
Martyn Ashton is a trials legend and a huge influence for most people riding in the early 2000s. Here he is ripping sections on a road bike.

It goes without saying that riding trials on a bike not designed for the purpose can be more dangerous then normal, will make moves more difficult and may wreck your bike but hey the point is you are having fun. Of course once you have wrecked your road bike or destroyed your mother's commuter you can always log on to ExpressiveBikes for a new bike designed for trials fun.
