Gold Coast rider Greg Baker has been riding trials for a year now and just treated himself to a brand new Onza Limey 3 frame and some tasty new parts. Greg dropped by for a ride yesterday so we grabbed some shots of the bike.
Previous to the Limey Greg was riding an older ZHI and he has transferred his Trialtech rear rim with Hope Pro 2 Trials Hub, Trialtech Sport Stem, Middleburn cranks, Hope front brake, rear HS33, Onza Mongo Headset and his “eye catching” red front wheel over to the new ride.
New additions to the bike are booster and clamps for the TNN ultimate braking system, new TNN 18t integrated aluminium bashguard, Trialtech Sport 26″ disc forks, Try-All ISIS bottom bracket and Inspired Lock-On Grips.
The new TNN 18t integrated bashguard has given Greg better clearance and dropped weight over his old Middleburn 22t bashguard and chainring. The horizontal dropouts on the Limey 3 have also allowed Greg to ditch his chain tensioner. The integrated tensioner system on the Onza Pro Series bikes means chain tension can be adjusted consistently and reliably without snail cams.
To finish off the bike Greg would like to add some new handlebars and a rebuilt front wheel with a Trialtech SL rim. He also needs to neaten up his front brake line. A lighter front tyre will also let Greg drop some extra weight.
Greg is already looking very comfortable on his new bike. The upgrade has helped him shave 2kgs in weight over his ZHI and noticeably improved his rear wheel control.
