The Queensland Bike Trials Club kicked off the 2010 season over the weekend with a great urban comp at the TNN workshop. Despite poor weather all month the local (and not so local) riders were not deterred with 24 competitors and quite a few spectators turning out for the trial.
It is always nice to start a new trials season, everyone is eager and excited, if not a bit nervous. Best of all though it is a chance for like minded souls to get together over the sport they love. One of the great things about trials is that riders are not just there as competitors but also as friends and even in many ways team mates. The photo at the top of the post exemplifies what makes trials a great sport as we see Morgan Driessens and Lewis Greenhalgh reaching out to save their Pro class adversary Jack Mullaly from a nasty fall on the concrete.

The battle in Pro between Morgan, Lewis and Jack was a close one and sets things up for an exciting series. Morgan took top place honours, Lewis Greenhalgh second and Jack Mullaly thirs. All three riders are members of the ExpressiveBikes team and it was great to see them filling the podium spots.
Round 1 of the 2010 Queensland Trials Series kicks off this Sunday in Brisbane at the TNN Engineering Trials course. This is a man made venue and a great way to shake off the cobwebs for a new season.
The Queensland Bike Trials Club has four different grades at all their competitions so there is a grade for everyone from the first timer to the pro level competitor.
Just arrived today is the new DVD “My Revival” featuring the phenomenal talents of French trials rider Giacomo Coustellier training on natural and urban terrain.
The DVD is filmed in HD by Nicolas Marsac and is ready to ship now at only $35.
Here are some photos of a complete Koxx Foxx with Trialtech buildkit that we will have on display at the next SQTA moto trials event.
The Koxx Foxx is a very cool bike that shows the K-124 group produces performance trials bikes for everyone. Aimed at junior or smaller riders breaking into the world of 26″ trials the Koxx Foxx is the perfect training tool for young moto trials riders or bike trials riders looking to switch from mod to stock.
The Koxx Foxx will be one of the products members of the Southern Queensland Trials Association will be able to check out at their next meet. If you would like to find out more about the SQTA, a moto trials club committed to uncomplicated, inexpensive, family friendly trials events, visit their website at www.sqta.com.au.
Gold Coast rider Greg Baker has been riding trials for a year now and just treated himself to a brand new Onza Limey 3 frame and some tasty new parts. Greg dropped by for a ride yesterday so we grabbed some shots of the bike.
Previous to the Limey Greg was riding an older ZHI and he has transferred his Trialtech rear rim with Hope Pro 2 Trials Hub, Trialtech Sport Stem, Middleburn cranks, Hope front brake, rear HS33, Onza Mongo Headset and his “eye catching” red front wheel over to the new ride.
New additions to the bike are booster and clamps for the TNN ultimate braking system, new TNN 18t integrated aluminium bashguard, Trialtech Sport 26″ disc forks, Try-All ISIS bottom bracket and Inspired Lock-On Grips.
